Basically you need supporters.

I've seen every rule in that requirement post being broken at one time or another but never the vouching requirement.

Age can be overcome if you act mature :) etc.

Currently the normal application is the only way, even though there most likely will be some kind of special regulation for AOLegion members later (When SWG is out and there is interest).
Just remember that the requirements for Legion and AOLegion are different, so it's unlikely that there will ever be a option do switch over directly.

You don't have to have a t-shirt with witty slogans on it to get some if you have a bumper sticker on your car that says "honk if you're horney". Just as effective.
