New to The Legion
Hi...i found my way to your webpage via a list of PA pages for SWG. I dont know any of your members, but from what i have read, yall seem to be of the most serious nature in regards to gameplay. I browsed your application guidelines and took notice of the the sponsorship requirement. As far as findin a sponsor, i find that would be rather difficult considering i know not one of your members. As of current, i only play Everquest online and see no mention of any members that do. I am goin to play SWG and plan on investin great amounts of time to being one of the better players out there. What i would like is any help in helpin resolve this situation, cuz like i said, you association seems of high caliber and this is exactly what i would like to be part of. Thx for your time and i hope to find some helpful responses.

Welcome :)
first of all - Johnny Rico found here the same way you did, and meanwhile he talked to a lot of us and he also wrote an application now. So it is possible to get known to us *g*
Best way to do that is to use IRC - jedi.legionhq.org, channel: #vts
A lot of us play AO or Warcraft atm. If you're interested in playing one of those, it may be a good possibilty to get known to us also.
One thing i would be interested in, you said you want to be one of the "better players" out there - what is your definition of a good (or even "better") player?

Hi Nevhin . Greate to have you here , enjoy your stay here =) .
Yes , we have a sponsor system here in Legion to ensure the top game quality as well as maturity of each individual that joins us .
Best way to get to know us in order to get sponsors is to hang out on our privat irc server in #vts . You can find the irc adress at upper right corner .
I think some members might be playing Everquest , but not officially as Legioneirs .
Feel free to ask if you have any questions and we will try to do our best to answer .

Welcome, just try to get on IRC once in a while, ppl arent always talking in there coz most are bored waiting for SWG but its the best way to get to know ppl. Also giving your view on things involving SWG can interest ppl. Thats how Johnny Rico impressed many members ;)

Well, thx for the reponses so far...As for what i consider to be one of the better players, i guess some part of the definition would consist of havin the name and player association that not so much makes others fearful that you are in zone, but one that carries some respect with it. Like i said, i play everquest on the sullon zek server, a free for all pvp, everything goes, everyone can be pk'ed save those under lvl 6. Can be rather ruthless at times. Ive played computer and console games for pretty much all my life, but everquest was my first mmorpg, and that endeavour was for the sole purpose of getting ready for SWG. Now while they may not be completely the same, there will be some similarities. On the server i play on in everquest, there are guilds that come into zone, and people cant help but pay some notice....and from what i read about The Legion, yall seem to be workin toward a common goal and with intentions of superior gameplay, something i would really like to be a part of. I was a newb when i first enter the world of EQ, but have come along nicely even makin the posted boards for top 20 evil pks. Not tryin to brag, but just a FYI as to how much im willin to work towards gameplay. As i said before, EQ was just trainin, SWG will be of more consideration for me. As for IRC, ive been tryin to get it goin, but had no luck...i believe it maybe something on my end as i have recently changed ISPs and have yet to gettin off of my arse and settin up things completely...Well, thx again and hope to talk to yall some more

One think you will keep in mind:
Quote:
1.03 Will this be EverQuest in space?
No. Star Wars Galaxies is being designed from the ground up to be its own game. Although many of our designers have learned a great deal from games such as EverQuest, Ultima Online and Meridian 59, we are dedicated to making a new game designed to work well with the Star Wars universe.
|
SWG won't have such a big/good(?) PvP possibility as EQ or other games, i don't think anyone who wants to play hardcore PvP will be loving SWG, ShadowBane or other new MMORPGs are explicitly designed for PvP and much better for that.
Sure, you can join the fight between Rebels and Empire, but SWG won't be as much centered to combat as all the other games. it will be more like "social MMORPG" - keep that in mind :)

This sounds familiar :) this was the reason that, recently, a whole group of us started playing Anarchy Online - Like many have said...finding a game with legion members playing in it and most definately coming on irc are the best ways to get to know us.
Another alternative as JRico has shown us :p is to start discussions on this, the public section of our boards. JR impressed a lot of people with his thoughts, insights and knowledge of SWG - that prompted to people to want to speak to him on irc...and want to get to know him.
Thats the best advice i can give you:
1) Play games with legion members
2) chat with us on irc
3) join in/start discussions on the forums

Once again, thx for the responses...as for hardcore pvp, it is not something i am solely after. The pvp aspect i mentioned was to illustrate some of my gameplay. As for irc, i have visited the channel. There seems to be some infightin, which is something to be expected within any association with numerous members. I am interested in SWG for the sole reason that it is a star wars environment. To be able to participate in such a realm with so many possibilities is something i have long desired. I have played the other sw games and was always enticed by the fact that the games are sw based, though the gameplay in the games wasnt always the greatest. Now i may sound a bit off, but i am thinkin that it i will be in awe for a short while after i first log on simply because it is a sw environment...and to have so many things to do, or be able to do, will only persuade me to continue to play and better my chars in the swg realm. its star wars...im pretty sure i will be more than happy to participate in the community. As for what the particulars i will use when creatin my char, i think i have some consideration still to do, and probably wont be able to make any final decisions till i am at char creation screen or have requests made to me by people for what type of char they are needin. i have a vague idea of what i want to do, but at best, it is speculation. i have done some research into the professions and skills, but would rather leave that open as opposed to makin any definite decisions. well, as i previously stated, thx for the responses and whatever future correspondence you allow me.

You click your mouse three times and chant "there's no place like #vts, there's no place like #vts, there's no place like #vts"

Yeah, i am sorry for my impatience :D
I was reading a site that said it was to be realesed earlier because of a secret testing of the beta and that the beta that they sent out to the testers was only for a joke...
Yeah... joke was on me and some others...Aprilīs joke...ffs
They sure did make me angry with their joke...
Canīt joke about that stuff...:=)
