Well Favorite games is hard because there are so many games in the past i have spent hours and hours and.. well months on...

Great games were:

Old Skool:
Pirates!
Elite
Empire
Mail Order Monsters

Then a bit later:

Civilisation
Ultima
Street Fighter 2
Lucasarts Adventures (monkey island etc)
Doom

Then much later:

Tekken 2 and 3 (4 is okish)
Halflife 1
Quake 2
Fallout 1+2
Diablo

But few games in recent times actually bring the same amount of enjoyment as the older ones. Mebbe I'm getting old, mebbe the industry is getting lame, but I find fewer and fewer games captivate me long term. Most are over far too soon (Halflife 2!), have lame storylines/plots, or are just a yawnworthy rehash of yet the same theme again.
