April 17, 2003 SWG Beta Update
Got this from the official boards:

As for where we are in Beta, we are just about ready to have all crafting disciplines working properly. When it is on the Beta Server, we will likely wipe all characters, remove all the “newbie equipment terminals” and start over again with a real test of the economy and advancement. Both have been getting testing, but not with all the gears moving together. But don’t tell the beta testers, I don’t want them to get discouraged that their current characters are going to meet the failed Jedi fate.
This week the sneak peek will be of a couple items from the recent patch notes:
Melee combat professions, including brawler, have received an overhaul. Many new combat actions have been added.
If you buy something from the commodities market, you will be able to pick that item up immediately if that item was put up for sale in the same region.
In other words, if you put something up for sale at the Mos Espa terminal, and someone buys it from a Mos Espa terminal, the person who buys the item can pick it up immediately from any Mos Espa terminal, they no longer have to go to the specific one where it was put up for sale.
Languages have been added. To get a list of languages that you know, type /language. To switch to a language that you know, type /language (language name).
UI color schemes have been added. Under options (control-o), interface, you will see you can now select the color you want for the HUD.
AwayFromKeyBoard: Clarified the distinction in the chat message when going automatically afk vs manually going afk.
Fixed some bugs with the tailor components in crafting
Better bump map for Corellian river / water effects, and it will no longer turn green when it rains
Bug fixes to Jabba's palace with final dialog.
Fixed some bugs with high level creatures not giving proper XP
Added sing emote chat bubble types
