Anybody in the beta for this browser game?

Got in via BF:Heroes (all BF:Heroes accounts got an invite), and it seems like a nice mix of Age of Empires, Settlers and even (worst of all) Planetarion. You can choose to play more peacefully by not building a castle, but this will still leave you open to plunder attacks (enemies trying to steal your ressources), but you can't be conquered or assaulted. You can build new cities instead of conquering them, so there is always a way without risking too much or having to go to war.

The graphics are really nice for a browser game, and it's a big improvement over the pure text based games. A lot stuff is still being developed, they are looking to implement quests and other stuff that is not based on player vs. player interaction. But of course you can always choose to go war and build a castle, which enables you to attack others and be attacked. This also means you can loose the city where you built a castle.

Overall very fun game with some fun people and due to a building queue, you don't even have to monitor it too much.

Would like to see some more Legion members around :-)

Cera, both on Server 1 and 2.

Looks like you are both on the same continent (4xx:1xx), so you can easily trade with each other. On Server 2 my city is still building up, but if I get a chance I can see if I can send you some ressources.

to send a msg via chat you can use /w <name> btw

Some general advice:
- build speed is really important later, currently I am at ~1200%
- Don't overestimate the value of resources, 25% is not that much
- rather plan ahead for Saw Mills and Stonemasons, but each quarry or woodcutter only gets the bonus from one of these (but from multiple cottages!)
- don't invest too much into iron or food in the beginning, it will become important later on, but for the first few days wood and stone are much more important (both of them more or less equally)
- don't build a castle too soon :-)

can you have one city with a castle, and one without? and thus only be able to loose on the one with castle?

Yes, most people have some specialized resource cities later on without a castle. You can still be plundered without a castle though, but this is only a one turn attack, mainly focused on resource stealing.

It's open beta now and they added a lot of stuff:

- quests (rocks!)
- shop (not really important items there yet)
- items (from shop or quests, maybe even dungeons)
- new towers
- chat filter (no idea hot to turn that off yet)

Questions:

Have you setup an Alliance yet?
Is there a world map? (not region map.. finding it hard to see how big the world is).

Choco: yes they do, they increase production for all 8 fields around them.
Sc0rpio: no Legion alliance around yet

For the world map, the continents are set up in a matrix like this:

Each number stands for your town coords. E.g. your town coords are 231:345, this means you are in continent 23 (2xx:3yy). 135:78 means continent 1 (1xx:yy), etc.

You can think of every continent as a cluster, and all the towns really close to you as a galaxy. Traveling from one continent to another requires ships (frigates for troops) and a long time.

edit: just checked, it seems you are all located on continent 51, so it should be easy for you to help each other or trade!
